What this file helps you do
Compare movement and margin
Enter units sold, revenue and unit cost for each product. The workbook compares velocity and margin within your entered mix, with adjustable weights for the two measures.
Use rankings as a review prompt
Combined scores produce KEEP, TEST / WATCH and SWAP labels. A product is being compared with the other products in your list, not with an external industry benchmark.
Document the replacement test
Swap Suggestions records the outgoing product, reason, replacement, start date and outcome. Keeping the test history helps you distinguish a deliberate assortment change from an unrecorded substitution.

Your first pass through the file
- Assemble SKU sales and cost records for a consistent period and location.
- Replace sample data, review the weights and inspect the relative rankings.
- Record a proposed replacement and return to the log after the test period.
Know what the file can tell you
The workbook needs your sales history. Rankings can change with seasonality or a small sample and do not predict customer demand. Sample product costs are not supplier quotes.
